What is the goal of the Foundation?

The goal of the Foundation is to become a trusted and enduring member of the North Andover community.  The money raised will benefit children at all levels of education in our town.  Our goal is to raise $500,000.00 by May of 2007 and make a substantial impact on the quality of public education in North Andover.

Why are education foundations so popular?

Communities with education foundations have faced the fact that tax revenue alone is not enough to provide adequate, quality opportunities for learning and teaching.  Educational Foundations provide a commitment to educational excellence in public schools.

Does the North Andover School Department control the NAFE?

No.  The North Andover Foundation for Education is an independent Foundation.  However, it will be necessary for the Foundation to work closely with the school department to coordinate the Foundation's initiatives with the school department's goals.
