A teacher takes a Hand,

opens a Mind,

and touches a Heart.

We recognize that strong literacy skills begin in kindergarten and are imperative to building successful readers and learners as students progress through school.  Students need to be exposed to different types of books, including those that tell a story, concept books, and nonfiction texts. Repeated practice with numerous books is what builds these skills. Currently, our classrooms do not have the quantity or quality of books necessary to support the reading behavior for our students that we know will bring success.

While we cannot outfit every classroom in the district with the necessary titles at this time, we believe that purchasing a collection of recommended titles for each classroom will help move us toward Dr. Price’s goal of a consistent and rigorous curriculum across the district.

Funds raised will be used to support the purchase of these titles for each of classrooms throughout the district, beginning with the kindergarten and first grade classes.

Honor Thy Teacher 2017

As the school year comes to an end, are you looking for a way to say “Thank You” to the people who make a difference in our school community? Every day, our children benefit from exceptional teachers and staff to motivate, educate and inspire them to be the best they can be.

While the wish to thank teachers with a physical or monetary gift is a natural one, there are state limits to the types and amounts of gifts that teachers may receive. In light of this, NAFE has created a special campaign designed to enable parents to honor teachers and staff by giving a gift in their name - “Honor Thy Teacher”. We hope that you will consider making a donation to this campaign in honor of your teachers’ efforts and dedication to your children. You may also choose to honor a special education aide, a fine arts or music teacher, or a coach or counselor who has touched your child’s life.

NAFE celebrates North Andover Public Schools teachers and staff by:
  • An e-mail letting them know you have made a donation
  • A certificate of recognition to display
  • Inclusion in the published list of Honorees in the North Andover Citizen
Simply complete the form to the right for each honoree.

Complete an "Honor Thy Teacher" request for each person (current or from the past) you wish to honor, then click on "Submit" at the end of the form.  You will see the prompt for making another request, should you wish to honor another person:
