Who We Are

The North Andover Foundation for Education was formed during the Spring of 2006.  At that time, the schools were being asked to cut close to $3,000,000 from the level services budget.  In the end, the School budget for the 2006-2007 was cut by the full amount projected by the School Committee.

Foundation President, Sue Donato, put the call out to other parents who were concerned about the continual cuts to the school budget that have been implemented in recent years.  She was concerned about the trend toward larger class sizes and loss of programs over the last 5 years.  The parents who came together to create the Foundation believe that the public schools in our town should strive for educational excellence. Their children attend different schools within North Andover, and there are also community representatives involved who do not have children in the school system.

Dozens of towns throughout Massachusetts have started similar Foundations and the money those organizations provide makes a real difference in the education of their children!

Ultimately we strive to restore and provide programs that will strengthen the education provided in our town.  We need the help and support of the North Andover community to ensure our success.  We can make a real difference in the education of our children, too.
